A white male coach placed this middle school student in a choke hold, lifting him completely off his feet and refusing to release him until after another male educator showed up and forced him to release this student, who other students were recording and stated this kid was "about to pass out." This kid had been attacked that morning by a white kid at school, who had threatened the day prior to attack this kid the following day. This kid reported the threat to the school the same day the threat was made. The school failed to intervene in any way. The kid admitted that he attacked this kid first pursuant tot he threat he made the prior day. Volusia County Schools refused to discipline the Coach, and with held its video of the incident from Jayquan's mom. Thankfully, a kid at school had recorded the incident, and that cell phone footage was provided to Jayquan.
